I am a member of the Professional Photographers of Western Michigan and this week we had our annual print competition with judges coming in from Illinois & Michigan. They are certified by the Professional Photographers of America and are extremely talented photographers as well as judges.
It's always nerve wracking for me to listen to the critique and comments as my prints spin around for them to judge. Seriously, my heart about pounds out of my chest.
This year I had two prints that earned Merit Awards. In the four years that I have been entering this competition, this year was a personal best for me. I was on cloud 9 to say the least.
Not only does it take an incredible amount of work to get images ready for this competition, but you also have to title the prints. I spent many many hours trying to think of the perfect titles that help tell the story of the images I submitted. Sounds crazy, but it's true.
